TIME, EXPERIMENTATION,

AND THE RHYTHM

OF CREATION

The use of plant and mineral-based dyes is a cornerstone of Marianne’s practice and also one of its main challenges. The rhythm of slow textiles demands both time and small-scale production, her process is closer to that of a century ago than to today’s industrial pace.

To streamline workflow while maintaining integrity, she developed the Marianne Tiegen Fabric Collection, a curated palette of colors refined through extensive testing, allowing for more consistent production.

When developing a new shade on a new base fabric, however, the process remains long and exploratory - far from the immediacy of selecting from a Pantone chart.

For her, this investigative approach is essential, deeply feeding her creativity.

Current production is produced purposefully in small quantities of about 10 meters, allowing for meticulous attention to detail — ideal for bespoke interiors and her own capsule collection, emphasizing artistry rather than mass production.
