THE PHILOSOPHY OF SLOW TEXTILES
Marianne Tiegen’s work is rooted in the philosophy of slow textiles, a patient and mindful approach that honors the rhythm of materials and the natural world.
Each project - whether residential or hospitality - is designed around an harmonious balance of materials: 40% organic or natural undyed fabrics, 40% organic fabrics dyed with plant-based pigments, and 20% antique textiles that are reconditioned or embroidered.
Depending on the project, she may also source from haute couture overstock, selecting only natural-fiber qualities, or from innovative biomaterials such as vegan leathers made from mushroom, cactus, or olive. This careful composition brings depth and richness to her interiors, blending modern sensibility with vintage and antique accents.
Over time, Marianne has built a close network of master dyers, organic weavers, antique textile suppliers, and collectors - trusted craftspeople with whom she exchanges constantly throughout her creative process.
Research, experimentation, and the rediscovery of ancestral techniques remain central to her work, inspiring her to adapt time-honored textile traditions to modern needs.
